Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026
VoiceMaxx ("we", "us") is a voice-practice app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. The short version: your recordings exist to be analyzed for you, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided by the sign-in provider).
- Voice recordings. The short practice clips you record in the app, stored privately against your account.
- Analysis results. Transcripts of your recordings and the derived coaching data (scores, pace, filler-word counts, feedback text).
- Practice data. Your selected goals, prompts you were given, drills you attempt, streaks, and progress metrics.
- Purchase state. Whether you have an active subscription (via RevenueCat and Apple). We never see your payment details — Apple handles billing.
- Usage analytics. App events (such as screens viewed and features used) via PostHog, associated with an account identifier, to improve the product. We do not send your email address, recordings, transcripts, talk tracks, or coaching text to PostHog.
- Crash and performance diagnostics. Sentry receives app, device, runtime, crash, and sampled performance information associated with an account identifier so we can keep VoiceMaxx reliable. Default collection of personal information is disabled.
How recordings are processed
Before the app uploads a recording or sends data to OpenAI, it shows an in-app disclosure describing what is shared, who receives it, and why. No recording is uploaded for analysis until you affirmatively tap Allow AI Analysis.
After you give permission and record a take, the audio is uploaded to our backend (Supabase) and processed as follows:
- The audio is transcribed and analyzed using OpenAI's API. Audio and transcripts sent to OpenAI via its API are not used to train OpenAI's models per OpenAI's API data-usage policy.
- The transcript and coaching results are stored in your account so you can review your history.
- Recordings are private to your account. They are not public, not shared with other users, and not used for advertising.
You can withdraw this permission from Settings → AI analysis data. After withdrawal, new recordings will not be uploaded or sent to OpenAI for analysis. Withdrawing permission does not delete earlier recordings or results; use Settings → Delete account to permanently delete them.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of processors to run the service, and share only what each needs:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and audio storage.
- OpenAI — transcription and coaching analysis of your recordings.
- RevenueCat — subscription management (receives your account identifier and purchase state).
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Sentry — crash reporting and performance diagnostics.
- Apple — payment processing for subscriptions.
We require service providers that process personal data for VoiceMaxx to protect it under privacy and security obligations consistent with this policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Retention and deletion
- Your recordings, transcripts, and analysis history are kept while your account is active so the app can track your progress.
- You can delete your account and all associated data (recordings, transcripts, analyses, practice history) from Settings → Delete account in the app, or by emailing us at the address below. Deletion is permanent.
- Failed or abandoned uploads are cleaned up automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these by using the in-app deletion feature or contacting us. We respond within 30 days.
Children
VoiceMaxx is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Recordings and data are stored with access restricted to your authenticated account. Backend access is scoped by row-level security, and data in transit is encrypted with TLS.
What VoiceMaxx is not
VoiceMaxx is a practice and confidence tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, diagnostic, or speech-therapy services.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and note the new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
